Independence has gone 9-1 against Centennial recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Independence Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Centennial Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Last Tuesday, Independence was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 1-0 to Franklin. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were beaten by Nolensville 62-13. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 359th, while the Knights are ranked 22nd).

Independence's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Independence beat Centennial 52-45 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Does Independence have another victory up their sleeve, or will Centennial turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
