Basketball Game Preview: Melvindale Cardinals vs. Ida Bluestreaks

The Melvindale Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Ida Bluestreaks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Melvindale has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.

Last Thursday, Melvindale didn't have quite enough to beat Romulus and fell 54-52. The loss continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Ida played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Onsted and fell 64-32. While losing is never fun, the Bluestreaks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 446th, while the Wildcats are ranked 32nd).

Melvindale's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Ida, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
