Basketball Recap: Winnebago Indians vs. Tri County Northeast Wolfpack
The Winnebago Indians won the last time they faced the Tri County Northeast Wolfpack, and things went their way on Thursday too. Winnebago came out on top against the Wolfpack by a score of 53-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Winnebago.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Winnebago to victory, but perhaps none more so than Timothy Lapointe, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rahkim Free-bass, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Several Wolfpack players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hunter Heikes, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. Ben Jorgensen was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Winnebago's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Tri County Northeast, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Winnebago will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hartington-Newcastle is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Tri County Northeast, they will take on the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Osmond/Randolph is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
