Basketball Recap: Mechanicsville Mustangs vs. Henrico Warriors
If the Mechanicsville Mustangs were riding high off their 88-41 takedown of the Dinwiddie Generals last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Mechanicsville was dealt a 71-34 loss at the hands of the Warriors on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mechanicsville has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Mechanicsville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kate Carlton. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Mechanicsville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season. As for Henrico, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.
Mechanicsville will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Patrick Henry has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12. As for Henrico, they will head out on the road to take on the Springers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Highland Springs is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
