Basketball Recap: DuVal Comes Up Short

DuVal was the 72-54 winner over Flowers when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The DuVal Tigers came up short against the Flowers Jaguars on Thursday, falling 78-58. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (55), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

It was another big night for Tyrell Bowles, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 12 boards for Flowers. With that strong performance, Bowles is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. Brandon Brooks was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 assists.

DuVal's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for Flowers, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.

DuVal is taking a road trip to take on Wise at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Flowers, they will face off against High Point at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Flowers is facing High Point at the right time seeing as High Point is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
