Softball Recap: Dudley Comes Up Short

Dudley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 20-3 to the Southern Guilford Storm. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 18-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Egypt Cheek was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-1. Taylor Graham also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Dudley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Southern Guilford, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Dudley is set to challenge their familiar foe Eastern Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Southern Guilford will take on rival High Point Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
