Volleyball Recap: Fairfield Christian Academy Takes a Loss

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Fairfield Christian Academy and Grove City Christian had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Knights came up short against the Eagles on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Grove City Christian scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-17, 25-20.

Micaiah Herron paced Fairfield Christian Academy's offense, picking up seven kills. Herron got some help from Candice Welsh and her nine assists. Nakayla Cash controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Grove City Christian can attribute much of their success to Axia Yoakum, who had four digs and three aces. That's the most aces Yoakum has posted since back in October of 2024. Sophie Dove also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Fairfield Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Grove City Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-6.

Fairfield Christian Academy has already played their next matchup (against Bishop Rosecrans), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Grove City Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Millersport on the 9th.
