Football Recap: Fruita Monument Falls Short of Columbine in the Playoffs + How To Watch

Fruita Monument and Columbine squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Fruita Monument had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Rebels 44-14. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 24-0.

Despite the loss, Fruita Monument still got an impressive performance from Max Unrien, who rushed for 63 yards and one TD, and also caught one score.

It was another big night for Mark Snyder, who rushed for 185 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry for Columbine. Snyder's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 137 rushing yards. Ben Frazier was another key player, rushing for 107 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries.

Fruita Monument has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Columbine, they pushed their record up to 6-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Fruita Monument does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Columbine, they will face off against Ralston Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven matchups.
