Basketball Game Preview: Buckeye Panthers vs. Plainview Hornets

The Buckeye Panthers will square off against the Plainview Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buckeye will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Buckeye will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Avoyelles, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Buckeye enjoyed a cozy 46-28 win over Avoyelles on Saturday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Mustangs are ranked 203rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Plainview has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a blow against Harrisonburg on Friday, falling 58-21. The game marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Plainview's defeat dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Buckeye, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
