Baseball Game Preview: Jasper Eagles vs. Osceola Indians

Jasper is a perfect 5-0 against Osceola since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Jasper will head out on the road to challenge Osceola at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Jasper can't be to happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Saturday. They fell just short of Lamar by a score of 7-5. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Treyton Ritchhart was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Ritchhart was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Will Thompson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with four RBI.

Meanwhile, Osceola unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Archie on Friday, falling 20-0.

Jasper took their win against Osceola in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jasper since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
