Preview: Oak Grove Panthers vs. Boonville Pirates
Oak Grove has been on the road for three straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Boonville Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Oak Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Thursday.
Even though Oak Grove has not done well against Warrensburg recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Oak Grove took down Warrensburg 58-42. The victory was just what Oak Grove needed coming off of a 69-39 defeat in their prior game.
Maurkalip Riley was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Weber, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Meanwhile, Boonville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 48-42 to Moberly. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Boonville has scored all season.
Oak Grove now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Boonville, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
