Mojave put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Palmdale Academy Charter School Jaguars an 18-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but Mojave sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Mojave got a massive performance out of Bernardina Sanchez, who scored two runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-4. Sanchez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alazey Cordero, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Mojave has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Palmdale Academy Charter School, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Mojave will be playing at home against Lone Pine at 3:15 a.m. on Friday. Mojave knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy run totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Lone Pine likes a good challenge.
