Basketball Recap: Twiggs Academy Comes Up Short

Twiggs Academy had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 2-14 to make it six. They lost 61-37 to the David Emanuel Academy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-47 on January 6th.

As for David Emanuel Academy, they moved to 3-14 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. That looming 61-37 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Ethan Fields continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 39 points and 14 boards. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of David Emanuel Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Evan Fields, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Coming up, Twiggs Academy will welcome Thomas Jefferson Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for David Emanuel Academy, they will challenge Covenant Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' defense better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 51.7 points per game this season.
