Preview: Oliver Springs Bobcats vs. Greenback Cherokees
Oliver Springs has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Greenback Cherokees at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Oliver Springs had to settle for a 47-44 defeat against Midway. Oliver Springs has struggled against Midway recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Greenback, who are still winless after their fifth match. The game between Greenback and Maryville Christian wasn't particularly close, with Greenback falling 53-38.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Emory McDonell, who scored 13 points. Shay McDonell was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Their wins bumped Oliver Springs to 2-4 and Midway to 3-0.
Oliver Springs came up short against Greenback when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 42-34. Can Oliver Springs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
