Basketball Recap: Griffin Bears vs. Jonesboro Cardinals
Griffin was the 59-57 winner over Jonesboro when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Griffin Bears received a blow on Thursday as they fell 52-37 to the Jonesboro Cardinals.
Jonesboro got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Frank Jackson out in front who posted 15 points and seven boards. Jackson is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tim Prather, who had 17 points and seven rebounds.
Griffin's defeat dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Jonesboro, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-8.
Griffin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-50 win against Central on the 14th. As for Jonesboro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 52-50 victory against Starr's Mill on the 14th.
