Football Game Preview: West Lincoln vs. Loyd Star

West Lincoln have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They will square off against Loyd Star at 7:00 PM. West Lincoln are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the game prepared for a fight.

It was all tied up at halftime, but West Lincoln weren't quite Bogue Chitto's equal in the second half when they met last Friday. West Lincoln have to be aching after a bruising 30-55 defeat to Bogue Chitto. Despite the loss, West Lincoln saw an underclassman step up: Freshman Enrico Price rushed for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns. If you haven't heard Price's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past five games.

Meanwhile, Loyd Star put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season two weeks ago. They took the match and then some with a 61-22 win over Enterprise. That looming 39-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Loyd Star yet.

Loyd Star's victory lifted them to 6-3 while West Lincoln's defeat dropped them down to 3-6. In Loyd Star's victory, senior Dane Smith passed for 169 yards and 3 touchdowns and senior Zach Nevels rushed for 122 yards and 2 touchdowns. We'll see if West Lincoln have a strategy for dealing with them or if they lead their team to another successful outing.
