Basketball Recap: Holly Takes a Loss

Holly was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 36-33 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cheraw Wolverines. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2018.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cheraw to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adi Miell, who posted 11 points and three steals. Miell has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kieran Harris, who put up five points and nine rebounds.

Holly's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Cheraw, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.

Holly didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-24 loss against Cheyenne Wells on the 22nd. As for Cheraw, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 41-35 defeat against Granada on the 21st.
