Volleyball Recap: Sunnyside Comes Up Short

Sunnyside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Rio Rico Hawks, falling 3-0. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-14, 25-9.

Rio Rico can attribute much of their success to America Navarro, who had five digs and two aces. That's the most aces Navarro has posted over her last five games.

Sunnyside's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Rio Rico, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Sunnyside will venture away from home to challenge San Luis at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rio Rico, they are taking a road trip to take on Casa Grande at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
