Basketball Recap: Southwest Find Success

Southwest's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 70-58 victory over the Hurley Tigers. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaema Schimmels, who posted 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Conrad, who went 7 of 16 on her way to 15 points and four steals.

Southwest now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hurley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Southwest will venture away from home to take on Pierce City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hurley, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Hurley Tigers challenge the Niangua Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on December 13th.
