Softball Game Preview: South Central Falcons vs. Havelock Rams

For the first time this season, South Central will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Thursday. They will look to defend their home field against the Havelock Rams at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Central has three straight victories, Havelock has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, South Central earned a 9-6 win over Laney.

South Central got a big performance out of Lacey Spivey, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance gave Spivey a new career-high in stolen bases. Kamdyn Haislip was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Havelock didn't have quite enough to beat New Bern on Tuesday and fell 7-6.

Andria Krupey was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Jones, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

South Central pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Havelock, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

South Central beat Havelock 9-6 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Does South Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Havelock turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
