Soccer Recap: Middleton Comes Up Short

After soaring to 16 goals the game before, Middleton was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They fell just short of the Marquette University Hilltoppers by a score of 1-0. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Middleton couldn't quite close it out.

Middleton's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3-1. As for Marquette University, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5-3.

Middleton and Marquette University should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Cardinals (ranked seventh) will meet Benet Academy (ranked 46th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Marquette University will challenge Menomonee Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (13 vs. 80).
