Baseball Recap: Burney's Losing Streak Snapped at 11 Games

Burney came into Tuesday's matchup having lost 11 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Tulelake Honkers 15-3 on Tuesday. The Raiders not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18, 2024.

Kyle Noah made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Burney got a massive performance out of Cort Covert, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Burney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tulelake only posted an OBP of .421.

Burney's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Tulelake, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Burney beat Tulelake by a score of 14-9 later that day.
