Riverview hasn't had much luck against Newsome recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Sharks will welcome the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Riverview comes in on three and Newsome on five.
Riverview is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Sumner, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sharks have posted since September 30, 2024.
Riverview wouldn't go down easily and took Sumner into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-15, 20-25, 21-25, 15-12.

Riverview's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Nicollette Haya, who had 18 assists and nine digs, and Annalyse Ayala, who had seven digs and one assist. That's the most digs Ayala has posted since back in September.
Riverview was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in nine consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Newsome made easy work of Durant on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win.
Newsome was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-16, 25-16.
Riverview better focus on containing Saige Timmerman and Natalie Kappaz as the pair were huge in Newsome's win. Timmerman had 13 assists, while Kappaz had 20 assists and three digs. Kappaz has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more assists the last 12 times she's played.
Newsome's victory bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Riverview, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
