Softball Game Preview: West Allis Hale Huskies vs. Menomonee Falls Phoenix

West Allis Hale is 2-8 against Menomonee Falls since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Huskies are taking a road trip to square off against the Phoenix at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, West Allis Hale didn't have quite enough to beat Germantown and fell 4-3.

Audrey Werra put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Werra wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maura Meunier, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Menomonee Falls fell victim to Kenosha Bradford and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 16-0 to the Devils. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Phoenix's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

West Allis Hale now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Menomonee Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.

West Allis Hale skirted past Menomonee Falls 7-5 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
