Preview: Metro Christian vs. Chelsea
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Metro Christian. On Friday they take on Chelsea at 7:00 PM. Metro Christian don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Metro Christian put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season last Friday. They blew past Wyandotte 47-13. Metro Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of senior Ryan Johnson, who rushed for 129 yards and 2 touchdowns, and junior Asher Link, who accumulated 201 passing yards and punched in 2 rushing TDs. If you haven't heard Link's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past six games.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Chelsea, and their match last Friday only extended their streak of losses to six. They took a 14-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kansas.
Metro Christian's win lifted them to 5-1 while Chelsea's defeat dropped them down to 0-6. We'll see if Metro Christian's success rolls on or if Chelsea are able to steal their positive momentum.
