Basketball Game Preview: Soquel Knights vs. Pacific Grove Breakers

The Soquel Knights will venture away from home to take on the Pacific Grove Breakers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Soquel saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against Enterprise by a score of 50-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Meanwhile, Pacific Grove really took it to Hilmar for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-50 victory. The Breakers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 28 points or more this season.

Soquel better keep an eye on Andrew Nimri. He was instrumental in Pacific Grove's win, going 11 for 16 on his way to 31 points and seven rebounds. The game was Nimri's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Gabriel Valencia was another key player, going 7 of 14 on his way to 19 points along with seven boards and five assists.

Pacific Grove was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hilmar only posted two assists.

The win got Soquel back to even at 4-4. As for Pacific Grove, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Soquel beat Pacific Grove 71-63 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Soquel since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
