Basketball Recap: Jaz Reyes' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hartsville over Darlington

Hartsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 42-29 to the Darlington Falcons. The Red Foxes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Hartsville lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jaz Reyes, who posted 13 points and three steals. Reyes is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Mitchell, who put up two points and seven steals.

Hartsville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Darlington, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hartsville will face off against Lakewood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hartsville is facing Lakewood at the right time seeing as Lakewood is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Darlington, they will challenge Crestwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
