Basketball Recap: Mohave Comes Up Short

Mohave lost against Coconino back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mohave Thunderbirds took a 50-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coconino Panthers. The Thunderbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Coconino's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Autumn Larsen, who posted 17 points. The dominant performance gave Larsen a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Aviana Scharfenberger, who had 15 points.

Mohave's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Coconino, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-9.

Mohave didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-26 loss against Mingus on the 10th. As for Coconino, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-31 defeat against Peoria on the 10th.
