Basketball Recap: Kiley Oldehoeft's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Exeter-Milligan/Friend over Sacred Heart

Exeter-Milligan/Friend was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 47-39 to the Sacred Heart Irish. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Irish are ranked 24th).

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kiley Oldehoeft, who posted seven points in addition to ten boards and three blocks. The dominant performance also gave Oldehoeft a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Aniston Meints, who had 12 points.

Exeter-Milligan/Friend now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Sacred Heart, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.

Exeter-Milligan/Friend will take on Thayer Central at 4:00 p.m. on January 21st. Sacred Heart has already played their next matchup (against Freeman), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
