Apple Valley is 8-1 against Burroughs since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Sun Devils will face off against the Burros at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Apple Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They lost 42-21 to Oak Hills on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Sun Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 39th).

Despite the loss, Apple Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brent Lanning threw for 205 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 31 yards. Davion Swan-Satterwhite also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Meanwhile, Burroughs played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Hesperia 41-14. The defeat continues a trend for the Burros in their meetings with the Scorpions: they've now lost six in a row.

Burroughs' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Apple Valley, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Everything came up roses for Apple Valley against Burroughs in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sun Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
