McNairy Central is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Lexington is on a nine-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bobcats will host the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
McNairy Central had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Hardin County on Friday. The Bobcats blew past the Tigers 12-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bobcats considering their one-run performance the game before.

Rhyan Gray and Kenli Bingham did most of the damage at the plate: Gray went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs, while Bingham went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI. Those four RBI gave Gray a new career-high. Chanley Steele was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Lexington never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against Chester County as they made off with an 11-0 win. The Tigers have beaten the Eagles the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.
Carly Williams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Lexington let Holly Bartholomew and Kk Simko run wild. Bartholomew went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Simko went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Bartholomew is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lane Huskey, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Lexington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chester County only posted an OBP of .250.
McNairy Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Lexington, their win bumped their record up to 29-13-2.
Lexington's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. McNairy Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Lexington, though, as they've been averaging only 2.9 strikeouts. Will McNairy Central keep running through batters, or will the Tigers buck the trend?
McNairy Central couldn't quite get it done against Lexington in their previous matchup back in April as they fell 9-4. Will the Bobcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
