Recap: Centauri Falcons vs. Bayfield Wolverines

The Centauri Falcons can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They blew past Bayfield 65-43. Given Centauri's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Bayfield is ranked 254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Chaz Holman, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Holman is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Troy Sowards, who scored 16 points.

When it comes to explaining why Bayfield lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lincoln Williams. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Williams is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least three every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Ross, who scored six points.

Centauri's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Bayfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

Centauri will look to defend their home court on Friday against Alamosa at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Centauri focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday. As for Bayfield, they will head out on the road to square off against Pagosa Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pagosa Springs will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something Bayfield surely won't give up without a fight.
