Basketball Recap: Greyhills Academy Takes a Loss

Greyhills Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 39th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the El Capitan Eagles, falling 37-15. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2018.

Ruth Timpson was her usual excellent self, putting up 19 points and five steals for El Capitan. That makes it six consecutive games in which Timpson has scored at least a third of El Capitan's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Quincie Hammon, who posted four points.

Greyhills Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for El Capitan, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-11 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greyhills Academy and Northland Prep Academy will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for El Capitan, they will face off against Fredonia at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fredonia's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so El Capitan's offense will have their work cut out for them.
