Softball Recap: Berkley Comes Up Short

Berkley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the North Farmington Raiders, falling 18-12. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-4 on Thursday.

Hailey Rigley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and one run. Meryl O'Donnell was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Berkley's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for North Farmington, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berkley will square off against Farmington at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for North Farmington, they will take on West Bloomfield on Saturday. The Lakers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.35 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
