Football Recap: West Washington Comes Up Short

West Washington had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-4 to make it seven. They took a 26-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Daviess Cougars. The Senators were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

As for North Daviess, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.3 points on average this season.

Keaton Graber continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 274 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 69 yards and one score. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (150).

Looking ahead, West Washington will square off against Perry Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Senators will be up against the Commodores' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for North Daviess, they will be playing at home against Mitchell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Bluejackets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
