Basketball Game Preview: Stewart County Royal Knights vs. Mitchell County Eagles

Stewart County is 2-8 against Mitchell County since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Royal Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 2:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Stewart County will bounce into Saturday's matchup after beating Pelham, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Royal Knights had just enough and edged out the Hornets 49-46.

Meanwhile, Mitchell County entered their tilt with Randolph-Clay on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Red Devils by a score of 53-43. Those 53 points were actually the fewest the Eagles have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Mitchell County's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Stewart County, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Stewart County was dealt a bruising 64-20 loss at the hands of Mitchell County in their previous meeting back in January. Can the Royal Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
