Soccer Recap: Opelika Takes a Loss

Opelika was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Montgomery Catholic Knights.

Opelika's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Montgomery Catholic, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-4.

Opelika wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 5-1 loss against Auburn on the 5th. As for Montgomery Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-1 victory against Booker T. Washington on the 4th.
