Baseball Recap: Pickens Takes a Loss

Pickens fell victim to Blue Ridge and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 6-0 to the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers. The Blue Flame were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Fighting Tigers earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Pickens saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henery Hernandez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Pickens' loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Blue Ridge, their record now sits at 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pickens will take on Walhalla at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Walhalla is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season. Blue Ridge will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Landrum at 7:30 p.m. on March 24th.
