Soccer Recap: Horizon Triumphs

Horizon won the last time they faced Tohopekaliga and things went their way on Monday too. The Horizon Hawks beat the Tohopekaliga Tigers by a goal, winning 4-3. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Tigers are ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Horizon hit Tohopekaliga with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Fernando Dexheimer Fiuza (2), Felipe Gaidies Fogaca, and Jayden Thorne.

The victory made it two in a row for Horizon and bumps their season record up to 6-4-1. As for Tohopekaliga, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-6-1.

Horizon will challenge Boone at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Boone's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Tohopekaliga, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bishop Moore at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
