Softball Recap: Southeastern Has No Trouble Against Westfall

Southeastern hadn't done well against Westfall recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 13-3 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Dylan Skaggs was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jade Turner, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Southeastern kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Southeastern's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Westfall, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Southeastern will host Adena at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Westfall, they will venture away from home to challenge Unioto at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
