Football Recap: Nederland's Undefeated Season over After Three Games + How To Watch

Nederland lost against Silsbee back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bulldogs received a blow as they fell 27-13 to the Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 286th, while the Tigers are ranked 117th).

Jacaleb Johnson had a dynamite game For Silsbee., rushing for 36 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 121 yards and one TD. The dominant performance also gave Johnson a new career-high in passer rating (90.3). Silsbee also got a significant boost from Ty'Zavion Hafford, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 112 yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Nederland fell to 2-1. As for Silsbee, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nederland will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Splendora at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Silsbee, they will take on West Brook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
