Steele barely beat Canyon the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Friday. Considering the Knights have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Mia Perez's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Olivia Flores was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Dossett, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run.

Steele pushed their record up to 16-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.
