Baseball Recap: Plainview Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Plainview entered their tilt with Madill on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 12-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-0 on Monday.

Henry Harlow made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs.

In other batting news, Brylan Anderson and Cooper Flowers did most of the damage at the plate: Anderson went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Flowers went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs Flowers has posted over his last nine contests. Devyn Anderson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Plainview's win bumped their record up to 17-12. As for Madill, they dropped their record down to 4-15 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Coming up, Plainview will square off against Rattan at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Madill, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Ardmore at 5:00 p.m. on the 20th.
