Basketball Recap: FAMU DRS Takes a Loss

FAMU DRS was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 65-38 defeat at the hands of the Madison County Cowboys. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Baby Rattlers have suffered against the Cowboys since January 30, 2015.

When it comes to explaining why FAMU DRS lost, don't look at Jamin Bryant. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

Jhy Smith continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Madison County, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Smith has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Labron Lee, who went 6 of 10 en route to 15 points and six rebounds.

FAMU DRS's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Madison County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

FAMU DRS will take on Chiles at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Madison County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 71-48 win against Branford on the 16th.
