Volleyball Recap: Chaparral Falls Short Against Ranked Valley

Chaparral faced Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Cowboys fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Cowboys in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.

Chaparral took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 21-25, 19-25, 25-21, 15-10.

Chaparral's defeat dropped their record down to 16-16. As for Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chaparral will face off against Bishop Gorman at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Valley, they will challenge Western at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
