Soccer Game Preview: Ledford vs. West Davidson

Ledford is 1-9 against West Davidson since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Ledford Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the West Davidson Dragons at 6:00 p.m.

Ledford is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Monday, they were much more limited against Lexington on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 2-1.

Ledford's goal came courtesy of Maggie Eccard, who's now up to three this season.

Meanwhile, West Davidson put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand Thomasville a 9-0 shutout. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by three goals or more this season.

West Davidson pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those four contests. As for Ledford, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Ledford couldn't quite get it done against West Davidson in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can Ledford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
