Softball Game Preview: Honeoye Falls-Lima Cougars vs. Churchville-Chili Saints

The Honeoye Falls-Lima Cougars are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on the Churchville-Chili Saints at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Honeoye Falls-Lima has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Honeoye Falls-Lima came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Penfield, falling 14-6.

Meanwhile, Churchville-Chili didn't have quite enough to beat Hilton on Tuesday and fell 5-4. The Saints have struggled against the Cadets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Churchville-Chili saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey DiGiacomo, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that DiGiacomo has snagged this season.

Churchville-Chili's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Honeoye Falls-Lima, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything went Honeoye Falls-Lima's way against Churchville-Chili in their previous matchup back in May of 2019, as Honeoye Falls-Lima made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
