Basketball Recap: Destin Gets the Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Destin walked away with it. They came out on top against the Maclay Marauders by a score of 66-56 on Thursday.

Fabian Del Valle continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 15 points in addition to seven steals and six rebounds. Destin is undefeated when Del Valle posts five or more steals, but 7-14 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jaiden May, who posted 15 points.

Destin was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2025.

Destin's victory bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Maclay, their loss dropped their record down to 5-21.

Looking ahead, Destin will take on Rocky Bayou Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Sharks will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.19 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Maclay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
