Basketball Recap: Cheney Tech Takes a Loss

If Cheney Tech was feeling good fresh off their 54-27 takedown of Vinal RVT two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cheney Tech Beavers lost 51-26 to the Prince RVT Falcons on Friday. The Beavers were not able to make up for their loss to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Cheney Tech lost, don't look at Trinity Hazel. Despite the final result, she posted 18 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Janilla Hanson, who put up no points and 17 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Cheney Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Cheney Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Prince RVT, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cheney Tech will square off against Norwich RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Prince RVT, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Prince RVT Falcons take on the Harvard Ellis Tech Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
