Basketball Game Preview: Bennington Badgers vs. Elkhorn Antlers

Bennington is 8-2 against Elkhorn since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Bennington Badgers will host the Elkhorn Antlers at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bennington will head into Saturday's game on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Standing Bear on Saturday. Bennington claimed a resounding 71-22 win over Standing Bear. With the Badgers ahead 38-5 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bennington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Macie Reiner, who posted ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The dominant performance also gave Reiner a new career-high in steals (five). Another player making a difference was Addison Reinoehl, who put up nine points and three steals.

Reiner wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Bennington was working as a unit and finished the game with 28 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, after only 25 points in their last matchup, Elkhorn made sure to put some points up on the board against Crete on Saturday. Elkhorn simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Crete 56-26.

Bennington's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Elkhorn, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Everything came up roses for Bennington against Elkhorn when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 65-25 victory. In that game, Bennington amassed a halftime lead of 32-11, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
